From 1985 to 1995, he worked for Bank Vontobel in Zurich, New York, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo, and from 1995 to 2005 for Cantrade Privatbank AG in Zurich (name was later changed to Ehinger & Armand von Ernst AG, which became Bank Julius Bär & Co. AG in 2005). From 2005 to 2015, he worked for Bank Julius Bär & Co. AG in Zurich. The scope of his work included various management tasks, and he was primarily responsible for the Latin America region. Between 1994 and 1996, he completed a course of studies at the Swiss Banking School in Zurich, Geneva and St. Gallen, where his work “Brasilien – Ursachen und Auswirkungen der Kapitalflucht” (English: Brazil – Causes and Impact of the Capital Flight) was published by the publishing company Paul Haupt Bern-Stuttgart-Wien.
